Makes Gold Test Needle
After 1 year of manufacturing Gold
Testing Solutions for 10K, 14K, 18K, 22k, Platinum and Silver we are
coming out with a line of Gold Testing Needles. This Spring we will be producing a new
line of gold test needles. We will first release a set with 3 needles,
10 carat, 14 carat and 18 carat. The gold testing needles will be made
in the USA... Yes, made in America. Most needles currently are made in
India and secondly in China. Ours will be made here in the United
States of America using the US Gold Standard for 10K, 14K, 18k Gold and
as we add to our production line we will follow the USA Standard for
22k Gold, Platinum and Silver testing needles.
In the near future we intend to also
manufacture a set with 10k, 14k, 18k and a silver test needle.
Gold test needles are used to compare the gold on the tip of the needle
( a known gold carat rating ) to an unknown item believed to be gold.
To compare the gold test needles to a ring believed to be gold the
person doing the testing would first use a test stone or touch plate
and scrape a small line of each the unknown ring and the 10 carat test
needle on the test stone or plate. Once the test needle and ring marks
are on the stone place a drop of the 10k gold test solution on the 2
small lines and watch the reaction. The 10k Gold test solution will
very slowly dissolve the mark from the 10k needle, possibly just
discolor, the reaction can be compared to the unknown piece. If the
reaction is the same or does not dissolve the mark at all it is likely
a 10k or higher valued gold. If the mark dissolve completely or slower
then the the gold test needle mark it is likely less the 10k gold or
not gold at all.
